COOLHUNT MONDAY: "TO GOOD TO GO"
Left-over food, a big problem in almost every Western country, in the last years we saw a lot of innitiatives trying to fight this problem. From sharing meal platforms, to restaurants that cook with food waste. Now there is a new thing called Too Good To Go.
The smartphone app from the Danish start-up Too Good To Go gives users the chance to order left-over food from restaurants which would otherwise just be thrown away. People can use the app to find participating restaurants in their area and they don't have to pay more than around €4 for their chosen meal. They can collect the food up to one hour before closing time and only need to show their confirmation of purchase. The meals come in recyclable packaging made of sugar cane. In this way, the company wants to reduce food waste and the related carbon dioxide emissions.
